Anyone know how to get high speed off the grid?
Hey i just moved to a place that is totally off the grid…..we are going to have solar power with a generator as backup…..does anyone know how or if i can get high speed internet because honestly i cant live without it…….we got an offer from direct tv but it was ridiculously expensive and just a little bit faster than dial up….please help me
I live out towards the country where cable and dsl is not possible (yet). The best way I found to get high speed internet is to go with a Sprint Mobile Broadband Card. You just plug it into your USB or into your PCI slot, depending on which model you buy, and there you go.
It is cheaper than DirectTV because you don’t need to buy all the equipment. Plus, if you have a laptop, it goes with you. If you want, they have a special router so you can get wireless internet throughout your household. It is brand new, so it’s expensive. It’s $200 for the special wireless router.
From personal experience and through family and friends, Sprint’s broadband is faster than DirectTV and other satellite cable companies. Plus, there is no download cap, like on Verizon’s “unlimited” plan.
You are allowed to try it out and return it within 15 days, so you have nothing to lose too.
